It is said that one of four schools in India is in a rural area, however, many of the students enrolled in these schools struggle with a host of challenges that eventually results in discontinuing education.
To begin with, in order to encourage financially challenged students to pursue basic education, Dr. Garima Singh Foundation has partnered with Sanskrit Inter-College, Atmadpur (A high-school in a small village in Meerut District, UP) to help 6th grade students with school books, uniforms, shoes, and bags.
We’ve picked 6th grade specifically because in Atmadpur schools are typically split into primary (1st to 5th grade) followed by mid/high (6th to 12th aka secondary or senior-secondary). Many students discontinue after primary school due to lack of resources. Hence, we expect providing necessary support to students in terms of books, uniforms, etc to begin 6th grade would spark enthusiasm to pursue next education further.
We are helping poor students to get them admitted in the school and in other vocational courses by helping them through paying their fees and donating books and other essentials.
